As an investment shareholder, Manchester City coach Guardiola invested in a clinic specializing in longevity and regenerative medicine in Barcelona. The project aims to fully recover and maintain health. Recently, Guardiola accepted an exclusive interview with the GQ team, during which he spoke freely and talked about various topics.

■Royce made headlines recently because he claimed that he had the "28-year-old physiological age". So what is Guardiola's physiological age?

Guardiola replied: "As far as I am now, my age is 75 (laughs). I am almost disbanding, and my whole body is in pain now. So, if this is my physiological age... maybe a test will show that I am actually younger. I hope I will feel better in a while."

Note: Guardiola is actually 54 years old this year.

■"You think if there were clinics like this, could you extend your career?"

"My career ended when my brain said 'enough'. I could have continued playing football, but my brain said: 'I'm tired and can't hold on.' I think I know when to stop. Actually, the same was true when I was coaching in Barcelona. At some point I said to myself, 'Enough, this is enough. I want to look for new challenges.' If you force yourself to continue, things won't go smoothly. So the ending is based on the judgment of the brain, not the problem of muscles, knees or feet."

■Reporter said: "As you said just now, the brain is a very important part... ”

Guardiola responded: "No, it's all."

Reporter asked: "For athletes, it may be 90%?"

Guardiola emphasized: "No, no, it's all. This is not only for athletes, but for everyone. The brain is the least studied 'muscle' in humans, perhaps because the research is too difficult. But everything starts here."

■Reporter asked: "Do you think coaching a team like Manchester City will reduce your lifespan in the whole season?"

Guardiola said: "A lot, especially when the situation is not going well. If the progress is not going well, the night will be even harder, and every day is difficult. It's not just me to do the job of coaching, but all my colleagues are the same. Like, this is a work that is 24 hours a day. Otherwise, you won’t do it well. You are under tremendous pressure on your shoulders, so you need someone to help you see more clearly. You have to work hard to maintain a psychological stability. But sometimes, your emotions are up and down, and the pressure is pressing to the top of your head... A friend once described me like this, and I think it is particularly accurate: I have three states - excitement, depression, and disappearance. These are the three states I often live in. So, the key is to learn to find a balance between these three states."

■Reporter said: "Indeed, the profession of coaching is very consuming, but people who have worked with you say that you are especially a workaholic, thinking about football all day long..."

Guardiola smiled and said: "Well, I It will stop...I did learn a little bit of 'pause'. But you always have a sense of responsibility because there are so many people who believe in you and support you: players, chairman, sports director... You always have the feeling of 'not letting them down'. I don't know if this is an internalized 'crime' brought by culture or religion. I don't know if children are still going to church now, but in our generation, faith is a very important part of education. So I have a strong sense of responsibility: do the right thing and don't let people down. Success does not fall from the sky, and doing something well is not easy. You have to invest time and energy, there is no other way. There is a saying that I like very much: 'In the dictionary, E (Effort, effort) is always in line T (Talent, talent) in front of it. ’ This is right. Either you are willing to work hard or you can’t do it. There is always something to do. ”

” But over time, I have also learned to keep a distance and understand that sometimes, if you don’t work, you can make you work better later.”
