Liu Yangqing, chairman of the National Development Committee (National Development Association) and a director of Taiwan Electric Power, said that Taiwan Electric Power's 2-nanometer (nm) factory will be concentrated in Taiwan, and because American customers are willing to buy chips at a relatively expensive price, the Arizona factory has started to make money, while Japan's Kumamoto factory has not made money yet.

Japan Television News Network (NNN) reported on the 26th that Liu Yangqing responded to the incident of Taiwan's expansion of production in the United States, saying, "The American Arizona factory has started to make money, but the Japanese Kumamoto factory has not made money yet. This is because the United States has helped, and it has improved a lot in terms of discounts. American customers are willing to buy chips at a relatively expensive price, making it easier for the Asian Arizona factory to make money."

Liu Liangqing said that when the second factory located in Kumamoto Prefecture of Taiwan's electricity will be based on Japanese demand, and we look forward to increasing demand in the future.

Liu Liangqing also pointed out that Taiwan's 2-nanometer factory will be concentrated in Taiwan, saying, "We have 6 factories with 2-nanometers, and the main production bases are still in Taiwan. This is because Taiwan's talent and supply chain are perfect."

Regarding the plan to produce 2 nanometers by "Rapidus", which plays the key role in revitalizing Japan's semiconductor industry, Liu Liangqing pointed out that "If Rapidus 2 nanometer technology can be successful, it is expected to boost other semiconductor companies to succeed together."

Liu Liangqing said that Japan is leading the way in semiconductor materials and manufacturing equipment, and it cannot produce semiconductors without Japanese companies. Japan is the key to Taiwan Electric Power's success.
